It’s never a bad time to look ahead on the schedule!
Michigan came out of Week 1 unscathed after knocking off Middle Tennessee 40-21. It was far from a dominating performance for the Wolverines, but there were flashes of brilliance throughout.
The offense was not overwhelmingly encouraging, but Shea Patterson did look strong leading the group. Hopefully, he plays even better moving forward.

Coming out of Week 1, it is interesting to look and see how ESPN’s Football Power Index is favoring Michigan moving forward. The FPI is still high on the Wolverines and only has them as underdogs in one game the rest of the way. That will be Michigan’s trip to Happy Valley in October.
Here is how the FPI is predicting Michigan’s win probability in every game the rest of the way:
- Sept. 7 vs Army: 96.2%
- Sept. 21 @ Wisconsin: 61.0%
- Sept. 28 vs Rutgers: 96.2%
- Oct. 5 vs Iowa: 79.4%
- Oct. 12 @ Illinois: 87.6%
- Oct. 19 @ Penn State: 36.8%
- Oct. 26 vs Notre Dame: 56.3%
- Nov. 2 @ Maryland: 73.5%
- Nov. 16 vs Michigan State: 77.9%
- Nov. 23 @ Indiana: 82.1%
- Nov. 30 vs Ohio State: 70.5%
