ESPN’s FPI tool has updated its odds for the Big Ten Championship after Week 4.
Currently, the model gives four teams a chance of winning the Big Ten.
- Ohio State: 51.9 percent
- Wisconsin: 44.6 percent
- Northwestern: 2.2 percent
- Indiana: 1.3 percent
Ohio State’s percentage dropped a bit from the week before (the Buckeyes were 65.1 percent after Week 3). Their Saturday game was canceled after Maryland had an outbreak of COVID-19 within their program.
The percentage for Wisconsin, however, soared after the Badgers put together an impressive 49-11 win at Michigan in primetime on Saturday. Wisconsin moved up three spots to No. 10 in the AP Top 25 Poll.
Northwestern, up to No. 19 in the polls after beating Purdue as well as Indiana, who are up a spot to No. 9 after a 24-0 win at Michigan State, both saw their percentage chances of winning the Big Ten drop despite their rise in the AP Top 25 Poll. That is likely due to the fact that both teams will face off against the top two teams on the FPI percentages in Week 5. Northwestern must face Wisconsin while Indiana gets Ohio State.
