Nebraska struggled against Colorado on Saturday. The 36-14 loss was the worst loss to the Buffaloes in over two decades.

Colorado went into halftime up 13-0. Nebraska’s defense collapsed in the second half. The defense allowed the Buffaloes to score 23 unanswered points in the final two quarters before Heinrich Haarburg ended the streak with a touchdown as time expired.

One of the things that held the Husker offense back was the number of turnovers. Nebraska gave the ball away to Colorado four times in the loss. Jeff Sims accounted for many of them. Rhule said that the turnovers are something that he’s been trying to fix.

Rhule also said that ball handling issues fall on his shoulders. Three of the four turnovers in the game were fumbles.

At the end of the day, Rhule believes that Nebraska is a much better team than the last two games have shown.

Nebraska faces Northern Illinois as Rhule will still be searching for his first win.

That game is set to kick off Sept. 16 at 7 p.m. ET on FS1. Northern Illinois upset Boston College in overtime in Week 1 and faced Southern Illinois on Saturday.

Here’s the video of Rhule at the postgame presser after the loss:
