It has been a busy offseason for Geovonte Howard, but fans finally have a bit of clarity on Howard’s future.

The former Purdue defensive back initially entered the transfer portal in December but eventually withdrew from the portal. That was until last week when Howard decided to enter the portal for a second time.

This time, Howard will not be withdrawing or staying with the Boilermakers. He shared a graphic on Twitter Sunday officially announcing his commitment to Charlotte out of Conference USA.

Howard will join a 49ers program that will face a B1G opponent for the first time in program history in 2021. Charlotte travels to Champaign to face Illinois on Oct. 2.

Howard posted four total tackles and three passes defended for Purdue during the 2021 season. His most productive game was the win over Iowa when he recorded a tackle and two passes defended. His final tackle of the season came in a loss to Minnesota.

Best of luck to Howard as he moves on to continue his collegiate career.
