Five B1G defenders among nation’s best pass rushers entering Week 4

The college football season is already entering Week 4, and these defenders have already established themselves as some of the best pass rushers in the country. As teams get set to enter conference play, you can bet B1G offenses will be sure to keep these guys at the top of their gameplans. The offensive line will always need to account for these guys on every snap.

Through three weeks of the season, Illinois DL Oluwole Betiku Jr. is tied for the lead in the nation in sacks and tackles for loss. However, he is not the only B1G defender making life difficult for quarterbacks. Chase Young, Kenny Willekes, Keandre Jones, and Yetur Gross-Matos are also among the national leaders for sacks.

Here is how the B1G’s best pass rushers currently stack up nationally, according to CFBStats.com:

  • T-1 – Oluwole Betiku Jr., Illinois, 6.0 sacks
  • T-3 – Chase Young, Ohio State, 5.0 sacks
  • T-8 – Kenny Willekes, Michigan State, 4.0 sacks
  • T-12 – Keandre Jones, Maryland, 3.5 sacks
  • T-12 – Yetur Gross-Matos, Penn State, 3.5 sacks
