Another former Ohio State standout is heading to the Canadian Football League.

The Edmonton Elks announced the signing of former Buckeyes wide receiver Jalin Marshall. Two weeks ago, the team announced that it has added former Ohio State quarterback JT Barrett to the roster.

Marshall and Barrett spent two seasons together playing at Ohio State and were both part of the 2014 team that won a national championship, the first of the College Football Playoff era.

Out of Ohio State, Marshall was undrafted in the 2016 NFL Draft. He had a two-year stop with the New York Jets, suiting up from 2016-17. He was also a member of the Oakland Raiders practice squad in 2019.

At Ohio State, Marshall totaled 74 receptions for 976 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also had 175 rushing yards and accounted for another touchdown.

Marshall also proved to be a threat in the return game while in Columbus. Over the 2014 and 2015 seasons, he fielded 52 punts for 662 yards. He scored 1 touchdown in 2014.

Marshall spent the past two seasons playing with the CFL’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
