Gavin Wimsatt and Rutgers have achieved bowl eligibility, locking up the program’s 6th win of the season against Indiana! Entering the game as a -5 favorite on the road, the Scarlet Knights outscored Indiana 14-0 in the second half for a 31-14 win.
Along the way, Wimsatt compiled a Rutgers record. He finished the game with 16 carries for 143 yards and 3 Scarlet Knight touchdowns. He was also 5-for-12 throwing the ball with 39 yards.
Those 143 rushing yards are the new single-game record for a Rutgers QB:

The big blow for Wimsatt was an 80-yard score early in the fourth quarter of action. That run was a lightning bolt and provided a back-breaker for Indiana.
Wimsatt entered Week 8 with just over 1,000 yards passing and 7 touchdowns to go with 219 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns on the ground. Now, the Scarlet Knights can rest in their bowl eligibility before the program turns the page to a tough slate in November.
