James Franklin was pleased with the performance of quarterback Drew Allar on Saturday against the West Virginia Mountaineers. The QB played a near-perfect game, completing 21-of-29 passes for 325 yards and 3 touchdowns. The Nittany Lions ended up winning the game by a score of 38-15.

After the game, Franklin said he “was very pleased,” with Allar’s performance and praised Allar’s poise and ability to spread the ball around. Franklin also noted Allar has good mobility for his size and moved around in the pocket well.

Some of Allar’s highlights included climbing the pocket and throwing on the run for his first touchdown of the game. He also dropped in a perfectly placed ball to the back corner of the end zone for another touchdown.

The Nittany Lions racked up almost 500 total yards of offense on the day. KeAndre Lambert-Smith had a big day at the receiver position, ending with 4 catches for 123 yards and 2 TDs.

Franklin’s squad will next play host to the Delaware Fightin’ Blue Hens in Week 2.
