Jeff Brohm is returning home. The now former Purdue head coach is finalizing a deal to become the next head coach at Louisville.

Brohm was a quarterback for the Cardinals from 1989-1993. He threw for 5,451 yards and 38 touchdowns in his four year career. Brohm returned to his alma mater as an assistant from 2003-2008. He also was inducted into the program’s ring of honor.

In West Lafayette, Brohm led the Boilermakers to a 36-34 record since 2017. Purdue made three bowl games during his tenure and reached the B1G title game this season before falling to Michigan.

Brohm takes over at Louisville after Scott Satterfield left for Cincinnati. The Cardinals went 7-5 this season and will face the Bearcats ironically in the Fenway Bowl on Dec. 17 in Boston.

Terms of the deal have yet to be announced, but this seems like a home run for Louisville. Let’s see how Brohm does in a fairly open ACC conference.
