John Torchio had a huge day in Wisconsin’s win over Purdue.

The senior safety had 2 INTs, including a 31-yard pick-6 on Purdue’s 1st offensive series of the game.

After the game, Torchio spoke on the pick-6 and how he felt about his performance in Week 7 against Michigan State.

Torchio would go on to say:

It feels great. I played like shit last week. Sorry for swearing, but… Third down, Coach Leonhard tossed me the oop. Perfect play call. When they went in motion, I knew exactly what they were running, so it was just a matter of don’t be too early.

In Week 7, the Wisconsin defense allowed 290 passing yards and 34 points in a 2OT loss to Michigan State. In Week 8, the defense forced 3 INTs and allowed 24 points, leading to a 35-24 win.

The Badgers enter the bye week in Week 9 before playing host to Maryland in Week 10.
