Josh Proctor starts incredible pick-6 as Jordan Hancock gives OSU lead vs. Rutgers

Josh Proctor and Jordan Hancock just combined to make an unreal and game-changing pick-6 for Ohio State in Saturday’s game against Rutgers. After trailing the Scarlet Knights 9-7 at the break, the two Buckeye defenders pulled off a remarkable play on the first drive of the second half.

With Rutgers driving, QB Gavin Wimsatt targeted Kyle Monangai with a throw down the middle of the field. Proctor was there to break up the pass, and the ball bounced directly into the arms of Hancock.

That’s when Hancock went to work, flipping the field and turning on the jets in a return. He was able to roll all the way down the sidelines with some nifty moves for a 93-yard touchdown.

The amazing play gave Ohio State a 14-9 lead as the Scarlet Knights were deep in Buckeye territory:

Unfortunately, Proctor was injured on the play and was down on the turf for a minute before eventually leaving the field gingerly. While he delivered the game-changing play, his status will be a key aspect moving forward. The Buckeyes are already facing Rutgers without Lathan Ransom and Denzel Burke in the secondary.
