Kirk Ferentz comments on lack of involvement with B1G coaches call regarding Michigan

Kirk Ferentz did not have time to engage in the recent B1G call with coaches and ADs from across the conference.
That call reportedly occurred at the end of last week with conference commissioner Tony Petitti speaking with coaches and ADs from around the B1G in relation to Michigan’s sign-stealing investigation. According to reports, multiple coaches in the league have called for Petitti to punish Michigan this season.
At his Tuesday press conference, Ferentz was asked if the call was “spicy,” to which the head coach said he couldn’t say. He could not say because Ferentz admitted he did not have time to hop on the call.
“I wouldn’t (say it was spicy), I wasn’t on the call. We actually practiced in the morning so we’re watching film at noon. Taking a little break right now, I just couldn’t make the call,” said Ferentz. “Figured the game might be a little more important than a call since we’re fighting for our lives. Gotta have priorities so I did not partake in it. I don’t have a lot of comment.”
While he refrained from talking about the call, Ferentz did briefly discuss some of the reactions to the sign-stealing investigation. He admitted he found it interesting some have become fixated on who turned Michigan in as opposed to the actual allegations at hand.
“I did — I haven’t read one article, I look at the headlines occasionally. Read one last night where they were fixated on who might have turned whom in, which I think is just such a statement on where we’re at right now in general. It doesn’t matter who turned whom in. If something’s wrong, the issue is the issue, not this other stuff,” Ferentz explained. “I found that kind of interesting, but outside of that, I don’t have any thought right now… As I understand it, they got it cleaned up in MLB, gotta be a way for us, too.”
We’ll see how things develop related to Michigan, but it looks like the B1G could be heating up this week.
