It looks like Iowa may get a bit of good news ahead of the trip to Ann Arbor this week.

The Hawkeyes rolled against Middle Tennessee over the week, keeping their undefeated start intact. Unfortunately, offensive lineman Alaric Jackson has been absent for most of that stretch. He was injured during the season opener against Miami (OH) and has been out since then.

Luckily, it sounds like Jackson will likely be back for the tough game against Michigan. During his Sunday evening update, head coach Kirk Ferentz said that Jackson, along with sophomore DB Kaevon Merriweather, should return to game action in Week 6.

Hawkeye Sports shared Ferentz’s update:

Barring any setback during the week, Ferentz said junior offensive lineman Alaric Jackson and sophomore defensive back Kaevon Merriweather should return to game action.

Hopefully, Jackson can return to boost an offense that is already coming off a 48-point explosion in Week 5.
