Lathan Ransom was one of the twelve players from around the country who were announced as semifinalists for the Jim Thorpe Award. He mentioned how he handled the news at Wednesday’s presser following practice.

Ransom stated that he took about half a second to think about how awesome it was to be up for the award. However, he knows that there are still plenty of games left on the schedule and that the job isn’t done yet.

While winning the award would be nice, Ransom knows that every thing else will follow as long as he focuses on getting his team wins first.

In the games he’s played in Ransom has 36 total tackles, 1 interception, 1 forced fumble, and 1 fumble recovery.

If he continues to play the way that he has been he’ll definitely have a shot at taking home the Jim Thorpe award. These next four games will be very important for not only Ransom, but Ohio State as well.

Can the Buckeyes’ DB bring home the award?
