Michigan couldn’t help itself. When it caught wind of Ohio State’s ridiculous trademark idea, the university decided to troll its biggest rival.

Tuesday night, Ohio State filed a trademark for the use of the word “The” for merchandise. The reason? Fans and alums often refered to the school as The Ohio State University.

On Wednesday, the University of Michigan decided to troll the Buckeyes on Twitter. It looks like the Wolverines are “planning” to trademark the word “Of.”

It got quite the response on Twitter.

Michigan isn’t the only school to troll Ohio State on Twitter. Earlier on Wednesday, the Ohio University also decided to take a shot at its in-state rival, as well.

Ohio State’s decision doesn’t seem to be going over too well with its rivals.
