Man charged with murder in connection to death of former Indiana player Chris Beaty

Marcus Anderson has been charged with killing former Indiana football player Chris Beaty in Indianapolis in May.
Anderson has been charged with murder, felony murder, robbery, and pointing a firearm, according to the AP.
The shooting happened during the end of May as protests and violence continued through the city. He was shot and killed near his apartment and was pronounced dead on the scene.
Earlier today, prosecutor Ryan Mears released a statement and he said (via the AP), “The tragic loss of Chris Beaty has had a tremendous impact on the Indianapolis community.”
Beaty played on the defensive line for the Hoosiers from 2000-2004. He also played for three state championship-winning teams at Cathedral High School before enrolling at Indiana.
