Maryland football just missed being ranked in Week 6.

The new AP poll is out, and the Terrapins are not in the latest top 25. Maryland is the top team among “others receiving votes,” effectively making the Terps No. 26.

Maryland football’s official account on X (formerly Twitter) used a memorable moment from Saturday’s win over Indiana to sum up the Terrapins’ feelings on being snubbed.

The gif comes from Locksley’s halftime interview with the Big Ten Network’s Elise Menaker. Maryland led 27-3 at the break, but Locksley expressed frustration with Jeshuan Jones not getting out of bounds in time to give the Terrapins another chance to score. Menaker suggested Locksley offer a smile for the big lead and he sarcastically obliged, adding in an eye roll.

Maryland is off to its best start in 22 years with a 5-0 ranking entering Week 6. The Terps have not posted double-digit wins in a season since 2003 under Ralph Friedgen.

The Terrapins can fix their AP ranking snub on the field in Week 6. Locksley’s team travels to Columbus to take on an undefeated Ohio State team ranked No. 4. The game is set for noon ET Saturday on FOX.
