Over the offseason, FOX wanted to make a change.

It wanted to truly own the noon time slot on Saturdays by placing a bigger matchup on its main channel to help draw the biggest audience. In Week 1, it worked perfectly with Ohio State-Florida Atlantic.

In Week 2, Michigan-Army was the game that FOX featured at noon. Did it pay off from a television rating standpoint?

Yes it did. Again:

People can point to the fact that Michigan-Army was a tight game throughout and it featured a potential massive upset that went to double overtime. That’s all good and well.

But Ohio State led Florida Atlantic 28-0 after the first eight minutes of the game. Drama wasn’t there like it was for Michigan-Army.

So far, FOX is making good decisions on which games to feature at noon. That much in known.
