Michigan delaying media availability prior to Ohio State game again

For the second time in as many days, Michigan has decided to delay media availability for the football team. Head coach Jim Harbaugh and players will not speak with reporters for at least another day.
The news comes the week of the Michigan-Ohio State game, which is in jeopardy after the Wolverines were forced to cancel last weekend’s game against Maryland. While limited workouts have resumed in Ann Arbor, the team has yet to speak with the media.
During a typical week, Harbaugh and select players speak with the media on Monday morning or afternoon.
Earlier this week, there was reported optimism about the potential of playing “The Game” with Michigan resuming limited workouts. However, it’s still very unclear whether or not the Wolverines will be able to take the field in Columbus this weekend.
If Michigan cannot play, Ohio State would not qualify for the B1G Championship Game under the league’s current rules, finishing the year just 5-0. Teams must play a minimum of 6 games to qualify under the conference’s previous guidelines.
Wisconsin athletic director Barry Alvarez said that league officials would likely look at a potential exception for Ohio State if the Buckeyes are unable to compete this weekend.
