Michigan State is dealing with one departure by an assistant coach and has seen another player reportedly hit the transfer portal for Christmas Eve.
Early Friday afternoon, news broke that assistant coach William Peagler was leaving for Florida. After coaching RBs the past two seasons in East Lansing, Peagler is reuniting with Billy Napier to coach TEs with the Gators.
Along with Peagler’s departure, another Spartan player has hit the portal. According to Rainer Sabin with the Detroit Free Press, freshman DL Tyson Watson is the latest Spartan in the portal.
Michigan State freshman DE Tyson Watson has entered the NCAA transfer portal, @freepsports has learned. He is the 12th scholarship player to enter since the end of the regular season.

Watson was a true freshman and a 3-star member of Michigan State’s 2021 recruiting class out of Warren, Michigan. He had Power 5 offers from around the country coming out of high school, including B1G offers from Iowa, Indiana, Purdue, Minnesota, and Maryland.
