Mickey Joseph is now reportedly no longer tied of Nebraska football per Omaha World-Herald’s Sam McKeown. Joseph was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence on Nov. 30.

Joseph took over for former HC Scott Frost after losing to Georgia Southern earlier this season. Joseph finished the regular season at 4-8 and was unable to get the Cornhuskers to a bowl game.

A Nebraska spokesperson released a statement on the decision:

“Coach Joseph is no longer part of the University of Nebraska football program or an employee of the University,” the spokesperson said.

There were no other comments given about whether or not the university is planning on paying Joseph the rest of his contract.

The Huskers now have Matt Rhule at the helm. There were various reports that came out stating Rhule was interested in potentially retaining Joseph before the former interim HC was arrested.

Stay tuned for more updates on Joseph and Nebraska.
