NIU kicker goes insane after nailing game-winning kick in MACtion

NIU kicker John Richardson had quite the celebration after converting the game-winning kick vs. Ball State. The redshirt sophomore definitely was expressing his joy in an animated way.
It was a dramatic finish to Wednesday night’s MACtion:

Previously this season, Richardson tied a program record with five made field goals in a win at Toledo. Richardson is 16-for-18 this season, with a perfect 7-for-7 mark between 30-49 yards. Overall, Richardson has converted 37 of his 45 field goals during his time at NIU.
NIU is 7-3 overall and first place in the MAC West. NIU quarterback Rocky Lombardi, a former Michigan State player, delivered a beautiful 58-yard touchdown pass in the victory.
Next up for NIU is a road contest at Buffalo on Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. (EST). NIU leads the all-time series 12-2 vs. Buffalo. Buffalo won last season’s meeting 49-30 at NIU.
