Nyheim Hines leaves Thursday Night Football, tested for concussion following scary incident

Nyhiem Hines – a running back for the Indianapolis Colts – was taken to the locker room to be checked for a concussion and is now declared out in the road game against the Denver Broncos on Thursday Night Football, according to IndyStar Colts insider Joel Erickson.

Hines was shown experiencing poor motor movement on the field after a hit from a Broncos defender. This injury to Hines comes one week after the serious concussion of Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa in the game versus the Cincinnati Bengals.

In the 4 previous games this NFL season, Hines has rushed for 11 yards on 8 carries. He has been more utilized as a pass-catcher in the backfield by catching 17 receptions for 113 yards.
Hines was starting in place for former Wisconsin Badgers running back Jonathan Taylor. Taylor is missing TNF due to an ankle injury. Phillip Lindsey is set to replace Hines as the main back for the rest of the game.
Concerns around head trauma and concussions in the NFL have reemerged following the case involving Tagovailoa. After getting tested and re-entering the game against the Buffalo Bills, the NFLPA reportedly asked the league to investigate the existing concussion protocol.
Hopefully, Hines is okay but it is another scary moment for a player in the NFL.
