Ohio State punter Drue Chrisman on media room: ‘I didn’t even know this room existed’

Ohio State beat Michigan State 26-6 on the road Saturday.

Pretty impressive, right?

A 20-point win in East Lansing is always something to celebrate. Mike Weber had104 yards on the ground, while Dwayne Haskins added 227 yards through the air. The offense did fine.

Defensively, Ohio State was better. The Spartans had two field goals, but couldn’t find the end-zone. Job well done there.

But special teams is where the Buckeyes truly shined. And in particular, punter Drue Chrisman.

Chrisman, in the first quarter, had a punt go 4 yards. That was by far his worst play of the game. From that point on, Chrisman pinned Michigan State within its own 20-yard-line 6 times and within its own 7-yard-line 5 times.

The punts eventually led to one intentional safety taken by Michigan State (not kidding) and a TD. Chrisman may not have scored the points directly, but he certainly would have earned a hockey assist.

After the game, Chrisman actually got to go to the media room — a rarity for any punter:

Hopefully it won’t be Chrisman’s last time in the media room. But again, you have to have one heck of a day to make it in as a punter.
