Thorne seems to understand that something like this can become a major distraction during the team’s preparation for Illinois. He made it clear that Tucker’s statements are the only answer that the team would provide and that they are moving forward.
“As Spartans, our program has a responsibility to uphold the highest level of sportsmanship,” Tucker said via a statement on social media two days ago. “While emotions were very high at the conclusion of our rivalry game at Michigan Stadium, there is no excuse for behavior that puts our team or our opponents at risk.”
Tucker also mentioned that the team would provide “complete cooperation with law enforcement, the Big Ten Conference and MSU and UM leadership” during the investigation into what happened.
Thorne and the players seem to be focused on getting ready for the remainder of the season as they prepare to improve from their 3-5 start.
