P.J. Fleck is feeling confident about the status of one of his top players. Minnesota takes on Illinois in a key B1G West matchup on Saturday.
After having a bye week to recover, Fleck is expecting Mohamed Ibrahim to be ready for the Illinois game. Ibrahim missed the matchup with Purdue in Week 5. The Minnesota offense missed Ibrahim’s production and ended up losing to the Boilermakers 20-10.
Update: #Gophers head coach PJ Fleck said Monday he expects star running back Mo Ibrahim to play against Illinois on Saturday.

Ibrahim is still one of the top rushers in the B1G even after missing some time with an ankle injury. The Minnesota RB has 567 yards rushing, which is the 17th-most in the country and 5th-most in the B1G.
Minnesota is facing a tight race in the division with Illinois tied atop the West with Purdue and Nebraska at 2-1 in conference play. The Fighting Illini have won four in a row after losing to Indiana in Week 1.
We’ll see if there are any more updates on Ibrahim’s status before kick off on Saturday at noon ET on BTN.
