Texas Tech head coach Chris Beard got his money’s worth before leaving Tuesday night’s game. Furious with the inconsistent officiating in the Red Raiders’ Big 12 clash against West Virginia, Beard let the referees have it.

Late in the game and trailing 77-71, Beard flew off the handle with Texas Tech about to see its three-game winning streak snapped. The head coach got into the face of the officials multiple times, fell to the floor and picked up technical fouls and was ejected from the game with under 30 seconds to play.

A clip from Tuesday night’s epic and animated outburst was shared by SportsCenter on Twitter. The Red Raiders fell 82-71 to the Mountaineers.

It’s a rarity to see a head coach get quite that livid with an officiating crew, especially to that extent. But Beard wasn’t going to be ejected without getting his point across.

Beard’s ejection was part of a weird night in college basketball. Also on Tuesday night, Syracuse head coach Jim Boeheim was caught picking his nose while cameras were zoomed in on him.

Who would’ve thought everything but the basketball could be so interesting?
