South Dakota State has battled back to take the lead over Sam Houston State in the FCS Championship!

Playing without their starting quarterback, the Jackrabbits entered the fourth quarter facing a 10-point deficit. While SDSU’s defense had held tough in the second half, the offense had yet to breakthrough.

Then in the fourth, the rushing attack for the Jackrabbits woke up. Behind the work of tailback Isaiah Davis, SDSU has rattled off 14-unanswered points. It started with a nice 28-yard touchdown by Davis but it was far from his best work.

The big blow came later in the quarter when Davis broke off an incredible 85-yard score that included a lot of broken tackles. It also looked like Davis might be forced out of bounds, but he was able to keep his feet and stay inside the line all the way.

Davis has scored all three touchdowns for the Jackrabbits with 178 yards rushing on 14 carries.
