A second Rutgers defensive player since Friday has decided to enter his name in the NCAA transfer portal.
247Sports reported on Monday that defensive lineman Jaohne Duggan has decided to explore opportunities outside of Piscataway to continue his college football career. He played in all 12 contests for the Scarlet Knights last fall, including a start.
Duggan was entering his redshirt junior season with the Scarlet Knights in 2020. The 6-foot-1, 295-pound lineman did not play during his first season in 2017, but as appeared in 21 contests over the last two seasons.
In two years at Rutgers, Duggan accounted for 12 stops and a tackle for loss. Eight of those tackles came during the 2019 campaign, with six being solo stops.
Over the weekend, Rutgers linebacker Jack Del Rio also entered his name in the NCAA transfer portal. He was a 3-star member of the Scarlet Knights’ 2020 recruiting class, initially committing to head coach Chris Ash.
Del Rio did not play in a game for the Scarlet Knights.
