Saturday’s Fiesta Bowl may be the most talented matchup on both sides of the ball for the entire season.

Ohio State and Clemson have been dominant for much of the season and are firing on all cylinders heading into the College Football Playoff. For the Buckeyes, they rank first in the nation with 48.7 points per game. On the other side of the ball, Ryan Day’s squad is allowing just 12.5 points per game, good enough for third-best in the country.

Schedule aside, Dabo Swinney’s Clemson squad has been equally impressive. The Tigers are fourth in the country in scoring at 46.5 points per game. Defensively, Clemson leads the nation by allowing just 10.6 points per game.

During Thursday’s media day, Ryan Day was asked about the matchup between the two sides. He definitely has a lot of respect for the Tigers, highlighting the collection of pure talent on both sides of the matchup.

Dan Hope with Eleven Warriors shared Day’s comments:

With both teams healthy and led by dynamic quarterbacks and strong defenses, this may shape up to be one of the best CFP games since the inception of the Playoff. Kickoff for Saturday is set for 8 pm EST on ESPN.
