Tom Allen on message to team after loss to MSU: Remember how much this hurts

Indiana fought hard all afternoon against Michigan State but came up just short on the road.

It was a remarkable performance from Michael Penix Jr. and the Hoosiers offense as they scored 31 points against a tough Spartans defense. Unfortunately, the offense left Michigan State just enough time after tying the score with two minutes to go in the game.

Michigan State kicked a go-ahead field goal with five seconds left before a lateral on the game’s final play was recovered for a touchdown. That left the Hoosiers with a 40-31 defeat after leading 24-21 early in the fourth quarter.

When asked after the game what Indiana can take from the defeat, head coach Tom Allen said he wants the team to remember how much it hurt to lose such a close game. Additionally, he wants the team to ask themselves if they did all they could.

Hopefully, Indiana can build off the close defeat and learn from it moving forward.
