The case against Wisconsin wide receiver Quintez Cephus in which he is charged with second-degree sexual assault of an intoxicated victim and third-degree sexual assault, will proceed according to a report.
Jeff Potrykus of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reported on Tuesday that the judge assigned to the case found probable cause in the case against Cephus, meaning the case will proceed. The judge also denied the motion asking for dismissal of the second-degree sexual assault of an intoxicated victim charge.

Cephus has maintained his innocence throughout the process, even taking a leave of absence from the team after charges were filed against him. He wanted to devote his “focus” to clearing his name.
After the nature of the charges came to light, Wisconsin suspended Cephus from the program. Another wide receiver, Danny Davis, was also mentioned in the report but no charges were filed. Davis served a two-game suspension and has returned to the team.
Cephus is still suspended.
The charges stem from an incident that occurred in April.
