Vegas computer predicts ridiculous margin in Ohio State-Rutgers showdown

Last week, Ohio State won by 59 points in a 73-14 drubbing of Maryland. This week, the margin of victory could be even bigger.

On Saturday, the Buckeyes will roll into Piscataway, New Jersey to take on Rutgers. Needless to say, it hasn’t been a great year for the Scarlet Knights.

Rutgers fired head coach Chris Ash after a 1-3 start. The team is currently 2-7 on the year with wins over UMass and Liberty and is without two quarterbacks and arguably its best player in Raheem Blackshear.

If that’s not bad enough for the Scarlet Knights, the College Football Playoff Committee actually gave the Buckeyes a bit of motivation for the contest. After LSU beat Alabama, the Committee bumped the Tigers over Ohio State for the No. 1 overall spot despite the huge win over Maryland.

Ohio State enters the game as -52.5 favorites, which is already an incredibly high spread. However, the computer prediction by Odds Shark is picking the Buckeyes to win by an even bigger margin.

According to that prediction, Ohio State is expected to win by more than 60 points. While that may seem absurd, Ohio State is currently 8-1 against the spread this season.

Saturday’s kickoff is set for 3:30 pm EST on BTN.
