Backup Iowa kicker Aaron Blom was accused Wednesday of betting on the 2021 Cy-Hawk matchup, placing a wager on the under of O/U 45. Being Iowa football, the under hit with the Hawkeyes’ win, 27-17.
Blom did not play in the aforementioned game.
According to a report from the Des Moines Register’s Chad Leistikow, Blom wagered over 170 times under his mother’s name while he was underage. The total for the account was worth $4,400. All in all, Blom is accused of having wagered 8 of those 170 bets on Iowa sports.
Blom and Iowa State QB Hunter Dekkers are 2 of 5 who have been specifically named as a result of the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation’s sports gambling investigation. The other 3 are former Cyclones players.
According to a new complaint, Iowa walk-on kicker Aaron Blom bet the “under” on the 2021 Cy-Hawk football game, won by Iowa 27-17. (The O/U was 45, so it hit!)
Blom wagered 170 times under his mother’s name for $4,400 on DraftKings, per the affidavit, and was underage.
