WATCH: Joel Klatt analyzes why Jonathan Taylor better be one of your top Heisman candidates

There’s absolutely no denying Jonathan Taylor needs to be in the Heisman Trophy discussion.
According to Joel Klatt, he absolutely believes Taylor should be among the top 3-4 candidates for the trophy early in the season. After all, Taylor had historic seasons as a freshman and sophomore.
Not only that, Taylor kicked off his junior season with a remarkable showing. He accounted for four total touchdowns while rushing for 135 yards and proving effective as a receiver with 48 yards through the air.

If you don’t have Taylor high on your list, Klatt sees that as a you problem:
“This guy’s got two of the most historic seasons we’ve ever seen in our sport, his freshman year and his sophomore year,” said Klatt. “What does he do in the first game of his junior season? He shows us another element. Not only did he rush for well over 150 yards, but he showed he can catch the ball out of the backfield and be a threat that way.”

Hopefully, voters take notice of Taylor this season. If he performs as he did in 2018, there’s absolutely no reason why he should not be a finalist for the prestigious award.
