After defeating former no. 3 Florida State 24-7 last Saturday, Alabama remained no. 1 in the Associated Press poll with Ohio State staying at no. 2. Klatt listed three reasons he believes that should be reversed.
- Alabama still couldn’t throw the football
“That’s a problem,” he said. “It’s still football, you still have to throw the ball down the field and save for one pass to Calvin Ridley that a question that remains for Alabama. Can they throw the ball efficiently?”
2. Speed on the outside for Ohio State
“Not only on the defense on the edges with their pass rushers but also on the outside with their speed players in the skill positions,” he said. “Last year they didn’t have that. No one to throw to, to create big plays. Now all of a sudden Parris Campbell takes it down the sideline, Johnnie Dixon is running right down the middle of the field and hey by the way this 18-year named J.K. Dobbins is carving up Indiana.”
3. They beat a division opponent on the road by four scores in the biggest game in that building in the last quarter century
