Wisconsin receiver Markus Allen will enter the transfer portal, he announced on Friday morning.

Allen said his name will officially appear in the portal “soon.”

Here’s his announcement:

If Allen enters the portal outside of the NCAA’s designated transfer portal window, he may not be eligible for the 2023 season.

Allen spent the last 2 seasons with the Badgers. Last year, he caught 7 passes for 91 yards and 1 touchdown as he saw action in 6 games. His lone touchdown came in Wisconsin’s win over Northwestern.

Allen entered the transfer portal and committed to Minnesota earlier this year. However, he later returned to Wisconsin and went through spring practice with the Badgers.

In April, Allen was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon in Madison.

Allen redshirted in 2021, so he’s entering his redshirt sophomore season. He will have 3 years of eligibility remaining at his next destination.

Allen was a 3-star prospect in Wisconsin’s 2021 recruiting class.
