In the Outback Bowl on Wednesday, Jan. 1, Minnesota took down Auburn in one of the classic Big Ten-SEC bowl clashes.
The Golden Gophers won 31-24, as their running game and record-breaking wide receivers made just enough plays to win.

With that victory, Minnesota has now won 19 consecutive non-conference games. The last time they lost was on Sept. 3, 2015 to No. 2 TCU. That’s the longest streak in the entire country:
#Gophers win over #WarEagle extends MN non-conference win streak to an amazing 19 straight!! Last time MN lost a nonconference gm was Sept 3 2015 loss to #2 TCU. Not too shabby for a Big Ten program that doesn’t get as much national respect as it probably should. Minnesota is a team on the rise. P.J. Fleck is proving that every single year.
The last time Minnesota’s had an 11-win season? That was back in 1904.
Again, the Gophers are rolling. There’s no disputing that.
