Zak Zinter is in good spirits after sustaining a disastrous injury during Michigan’s win over Ohio State. With the Wolverines driving in the third quarter of The Game, Zinter was rolled up on while blocking.

The FOX broadcast declined to show replays of the injury while citing the terrible nature of the injury. Zinter was eventually carted off the field, and his mother revealed Saturday night he was undergoing surgery for a broken tibia and fibula.

Late Saturday night, Zinter shared an image with his parents and head coach Jim Harbaugh by his hospital bed. Zinter also had an additional image sporting a B1G East champions hat with a promising update after surgery.

“Surgery went great, love team 144,” exclaimed Zinter. “Thanks for having my back boys and finishing strong! I’ll be back better than ever. See you in Indy!”

While the loss of Zinter is a big blow, the Wolverines were able to handle the loss during The Game. Blake Corum raced to a key touchdown immediately after the injury and threw up 6-5 in honor of the offensive lineman after the score.
