Northwestern landed in Dublin and visited Aviva Stadium for the first time.

With 3 days before the game, Northwestern toured the stadium in Dublin and walked around the field. Northwestern will open the season in a neutral site contest against Nebraska.

This will be a B1G clash in Ireland. People from around the world will be exposed to B1G football to start the 2022 season. All eyes will be on this matchup as it is one of the biggest games in Week 0.

Previously, Nebraska had a tour of Aviva Stadium on Tuesday. The Cornhuskers were able to visit the stadium first and Northwestern had the latest opportunity to visit the stadium.

Northwestern wants to get a win in Ireland to start the season. This game is far more important than any neutral site or non-conference game. The Wildcats will be playing a B1G foe and this game will impact the entire season. The game will contribute Northwestern and Nebraska’s B1G record.

In 2021, Northwestern went 3-9 on the season and 1-8 in B1G play. This will be the 2nd consecutive year in which Northwestern plays a B1G opponent at the start of the season. Last season, Northwestern faced Michigan State.

Northwestern and Nebraska will face off at 12:30 p.m. ET on Saturday.
