Northwestern is looking to make it back-to-back B1G West titles in 2021, and the Wildcats wrapped up spring practices with one unique competition.

In 2020, Pat Fitzgerald’s squad was one of the great stories in college football. The Wildcats rebounded from a 3-9 campaign in 2019 to finish 6-1 in the regular season and capture the West division title. Northwestern would lose a hard-fought B1G Championship to Ohio State in Indianapolis before finishing No. 10 on the AP Poll after a bowl win over Auburn.

Heading into 2021, repeating in the west will be no easy feat. The Wildcats are replacing some key pieces, including starting quarterback Peyton Ramsey.

Ramsey spent just one season with Northwestern after beginning his career at Indiana and was dynamic as a starter for the Wildcats. Fortunately, the team has reloaded by adding South Carolina transfer Ryan Hilinski to the QB room.

It will be interesting to see how that plays out for this season, but before we get there, Northwestern had to put the wraps on the spring session. And to do that, the Wildcats broke out the classic “dizzy bat” competition.
