When Cassius Winston announced shortly after the conclusion of the basketball season that he’d be returning to East Lansing, Michigan State immediately became the team to beat. Now, Las Vegas has the Spartans as the favorites to win it all.

The Westgate Superbook has updated its odds for the 2020 college basketball national championship, and Michigan State is the favorite to claim title. The Spartans are at 6-1 odds to win it all, the best in college basketball.

Michigan State is currently the betting favorite over Duke (10-1), Kentucky (10-1), Kansas (12-1), Memphis (12-1), North Carolina (16-1) and Villanova (16-1), among others. Kentucky and Virginia had originally opened as the favorites with 7-1 odds.

The Spartans are coming off a 2018-19 campaign in which they won a B1G regular season championship, a B1G Tournament title and reached the Final Four. They also went 3-0 against rival Michigan and finished the year with a 32-7 record.

With so many key pieces returning to floor for Tom Izzo, it’s hard to bet against Michigan State heading into the 2019-20 season.
