Former Ohio State quarterback Cardale Jones has responded to Nick Saban’s daughter after she put out a tweet saying that she thinks the Buckeyes really aren’t going through COVID issues.

She claimed that the potential issues were in fact a cover-up for the fact that Ohio State wanted more time for Justin Fields to recover. The theory behind that was that the Buckeyes would be worried to start backup quarterback CJ Stroud against the Crimson Tide.

She has since deleted the tweet but Jones took a screenshot of it and used it in his tweet as seen here:

Starting quarterback Justin Fields is still likely to play despite getting hurt against Clemson, but Jones wanted her to remember about the last time a Buckeyes backup had to come in against Alabama.

The Buckeyes played Alabama in the Allstate Sugar Bowl on Jan. 1 of 2015 which was Cardale Jones’ second career start. Ohio State won the game 42-35 and Jones had 243 yards passing with one touchdown pass. He was also 18-for-35 throwing in that game with one interception.

Right now, the National Championship game is still on track to be played on Monday, despite COVID-19 issues within the Buckeyes program.
