Brutus Buckeye is riding high after Ohio State came away with the last-second win over Notre Dame. He also dialed up a perfect troll job to cap the night.

In that game, Notre Dame scored a go-ahead touchdown with 8:22 left in the fourth quarter. It looked like the Fighting Irish might come away the win, a thought further engrained with Ohio State’s turnover on downs with 4:12 left in the game.

Notre Dame would eventually be forced to punt but still had to feel good about its chances with Ohio State having just 1:25 left of game time. That proved to be just enough time as Chip Trayanum eventually scored the go-ahead touchdown on a play snapped with 3 seconds left.

Getting so close to a win only to come up short has to sting for Notre Dame. And Brutus delivered a perfect twist of the knife with a simple 4-word troll accompanied by Brutus jumping out of a pot of gold.

While Notre Dame comes up short, it truly felt like a statement game for the Buckeyes. Ryan Day continues to reiterate the toughness of his team while trying to shoot down a narrative to the contrary.

We’ll see how the Buckeyes move forward from the win, but they are currently right where they need to be.
