C.J. Stroud’s starting debut has not been without its bumps, but the redshirt freshman has put some early mistakes behind him with his play in the second half.

Prior to the break, Stroud was held without a touchdown and had a costly interception. His errant throw was off target and batted into the air before Minnesota corraled it. The Gophers turned that interception into a touchdown and a 14-10 lead at halftime.

However, Stroud has been on target time and time again coming out of the break. He connected with Chris Olave for his first passing touchdown as a Buckeye, but that was far from Stroud’s last of the night.

Stroud would later hook up with Olave again in the fourth quarter, this time from 61 yards out. It gave Ohio State a 14-point cushion which should be enough to get to the finish line:

Since halftime, Stroud has thrown for 4 touchdowns and has 294 yards in the game. Not bad for his first start for Ryan Day and the Buckeyes.
