Carnell Tate has been one of Ohio State’s standout freshman performers throughout the spring. He capped things off with a beautiful play in Saturday’s spring game.

Late in the game, Tate was able to beat his defender to the outside and down the sideline. With a solid step ahead of the defensive back, Kyle McCord was able to find Tate in stride with a beautiful deep ball.

Early impressions of Carnell Tate

Already this spring, Tate has drawn some rave reviews from head coach Ryan Day for his early impression of the true freshman. Day previously admitted there’s “a lot to be impressed with” in regard to what Tate brings to the table, and fans got a little glimpse of that in the spring game.

The 6-foot-2 Tate joined the program as a 4-star prospect and the 59th overall player in the country for the class of 2023 per the 247 Sports Composite. After enrolling early, Tate has made the most of his time with the program and could be poised for some early playing time in the fall.
