The 2019 Heisman Trophy will be handed out Saturday night. Prior to the award show taking place, Ohio State stud defensive end Chase Young spoke with the media about numerous topics.

All of the finalists do.

But what Young said when asked about potentially returning to Ohio State for 2020 got people’s eyebrows raised.

Young said “that’s the plan,” when asked about potentially returning for another year. That would be a surprise given the knowledge that we have as to where Young would be selected in the 2020 NFL Draft. He would be a top-five pick, no questions asked.

For him to come back would be a shocker.

He was asked to clarify his comment later on. Young somewhat backtracked:

According to Young, he was caught off-guard. He isn’t worried about the future. He just wants to beat Clemson.

Perhaps he misspoke. We’ve all done it before. Have you ever been told something and responded, “you too.”? Sometimes, “you too” doesn’t make sense. But, we’ve said it in response.

Again, he may have misspoke. He may have misheard the question. He may just have not been thinking clearly and spoke too quickly.

Whatever the case is, Young is worried about Clemson. Not about 2020.

Not yet.
