As the day progresses, more evidence indicates that Urban Meyer is taking over as the next head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

It’s already been reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport that the former Ohio State coach is closing in on a deal with the Jaguars.

Now, we have visual evidence that Meyer has arrived in Jacksonville. News4JAX  reporter Zachery Lashway tweeted photos of Meyer arriving at the local airport.

Since reaching the AFC Championship Game in 2017, the Jaguars have posted three consecutive losing seasons. The Jaguars have the No. 1 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft and are being linked to Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence by various media outlets.

There’s also reports that Chris Ash, who served as Ohio State’s defensive coordinator under Meyer, is being targeted as a candidate to become the Jaguars’ defensive coordinator.

Meyer has captured three national championships (2 with Florida, 1 with Ohio State) and has posted a 187-32 record as a college football head coach. Meyer stepped away from coaching in 2018 because of health reasons and has served as a broadcaster for FOX and the Big Ten Network during his retirement.
