Tom Allen hasn’t been in the B1G very long, but he’s been in Bloomington long enough to recognize greatness when he sees it. And, right now, he’s seeing it out of Columbus.

During his weekly press conference on Monday, Allen talked about Indiana’s upcoming matchup with Ohio State in Columbus. And the Hoosiers’ second-year head coach made it clear that the Buckeyes present an incredible challenge.

“I’ve been here, it’s my third season, and this is the most talented Ohio State team I’ve seen,” Allen said.

Allen joined Indiana’s staff as the defensive coordinator in 2016 and took over as head coach, replacing Kevin Wilson, in 2017. So he hasn’t seen a lot from the Buckeyes, but the previous two teams he’s coached against have been pretty good, too.

The comments out of Bloomington came just minutes after Ohio State’s Urban Meyer said that, despite his team’s 5-0 start, they “haven’t played close” to their best game yet.

Indiana and Ohio State square off this Saturday in Columbus. Both teams are coming off wins, as the Hoosiers defeated Rutgers and the Buckeyes knocked off Penn State.

Saturday’s game will kick off at 4:00 p.m. ET.
