Jyaire Brown was called for a pass interference penalty that gave Wisconsin a first down on Saturday. He spoke about how much it meant to him that the coaches had his back per Chase Brown of Eleven Warriors.

Brown was quick to laugh about the play and stated that the ref’s decision was a bad call.

Other than DBs coach Tim Walton, Ryan Day was another coach who stood up for Brown after the call that went against the Buckeyes. Brown explained how great that made him feel and talked about what kind of coach Day is.

Walton helped Brown calm down after the play didn’t go his way. Walton essentially told him that there was nothing he could do to change the ref’s mind, and to move on and worry about the next play.

Brown praised how Walton has coached the DBs at Ohio State. Brown revealed that Walton likes his players to focus on the little details.

“Coach Walton, he’s a guru, man,” said Brown. “The way he moves around the facility, his demeanor is real business-like.”

Brown and Ohio State will have another chance to prove themselves with Rutgers up next on the schedule.

Ohio State and Rutgers kick off from Ohio Stadium in Columbus Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET on BTN.
